The latest update on this case states that the Mumbai Police’s cyber cell has arrested lawyer Vibhor Anand for allegedly sharing and promoting fake conspiracy theories on social media. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Vibhor has been brought to Mumbai Crime Branch from Delhi.
Previously, after Arbaaz filed the civil suit in Bombay Civil court, on September 28, the court had asked defendants Vibhor Anand and Sakshi Bhandari, and unknown defendants – namely John Doe / Ashok Kumar – to withdraw, recall or takedown defamatory content published directly or indirectly by any of them.
This content also included all posts, messages, tweets, videos, interviews, communications and similar correspondence to the defamatory content in relation to Arbaaz Khan or his family members on all public domains and social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other mediums and bot. One such defamatory post had stated that Arbaaz had been arrested and taken into unofficial custody by CBI.
Now talking about Vibhor’s arrest, a police officer told the tabloid, “He was picked up from his residence in Delhi on Thursday and was brought to the city. He was produced in the court and has been sent to police custody till October 19.” The lawyer has been now booked for defamation. Other charges under Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act have also been added.
Sushant died by suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14. A few days before his death, his ex-manager Disha Salian had committed suicide. CBI is currently investigating both these death cases and trying to find out if there’s any link between them.
