We have received a complaint about the web series ‘Tandav’ which is currently in the midst of controversy and action will be taken as per the rules. But the Union government should take steps in this regard, said Anil Deshmukh, the state’s home minister. Speaking to media, Deshmukh said, “We have received a complaint about ‘Tandav’ webseries and action will be taken as per law.” But since there is currently no control over OTT platforms, the central government should legislate in this regard.

A web series titled ‘Tandav’ has been aired on Amazon Prime, which has been accused of making offensive remarks about Hindu deities and hurting religious sentiments. Some BJP leaders have lodged a complaint with the police against the webseries. A complaint has also been lodged with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against the webseries, seeking censorship for OTT to avoid such disputes.
