Ahead of Rhea’s release, the security outside Byculla’s jail was beefed up.
Cops had strictly asked paparazzi to not Chase the actress’ vehicle. Also, her car’s windows were covered with newspaper so none of the paparazzi was able to snap the actress when she left the jail.
Apart from the Rs. 1 lakh bond, the court asked Rhea, “Rhea should mark her presence for 10 days in the police station after release, deposit her passport, not travel abroad without court permission & inform the investigating officer if she has to leave Greater Mumbai.”
Welcoming the court’s order, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde told NDTV, “We are delighted by the order. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of the law. The hounding and witch-hunt by three central agencies, the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau should come to an end. We remain committed to truth. Satyameva Jayate.”
The Bombay High Court also refuted NCB’s allegation that Rhea was an active member of the drug syndicate. Rhea’s brother Showik continues to remain in NCB’s custody has his bail plea was again rejected by the court.
