Kangana Ranaut seemed to have landed herself in some legal trouble again, with her tweets this time. At first, it was against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for demolishing her office and now the Karnataka Police has filed a case against the ‘Queen‘ actress for her tweets against the farmers’ protest and calling them terrorists.
Kangana had posted some tweets about the farmers’ protest against contentious central farm laws and now an advocate named L. Ramesh Naik filed a complaint against the actress. The Tumakuru Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court had directed the police on October 9 register an FIR based on the complaint by Naik.
Advocate Naik told IANS, “My case against popular Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not to gain any publicity but to convey to her that what she did was wrong. When farmers take to the streets to protest against any government policy, they are not necessarily terrorists, as she thinks. I have joined many such protests, am I a terrorist? I need clarification on this and therefore I am fighting this case.”
Meanwhile, talking about Kangana’s tweets about the farmers’ protest; the actress had written on her Twitter handle, “People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about farmers’ bills and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists. You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation”
