Pooja Batra may have been away from Bollywood for quite a long time, but the pretty lady recently made headlines for her latest release ‘Padmavyuha’, which leans and panders towards religious beliefs. The actress’ film may have received rave reviews, but she has been in the news thanks to her views on nepotism in Bollywood and the recent demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Here’s another interesting aspect which she spoke of during her interview with Bollywood Bubble, where she opened up about how religious texts have been interpreted in different forms over the years.
Not only that, but Pooja Batra also spoke heavily about numerous topics, which concern the common public in general. Have a look at the entire interview right here:
When asked about how religious texts haven’t been upgraded over centuries, she had said, “I feel, and this is my opinion only. Religious texts that we have read have been interpretations of people. They’re not the original text. So over the years, over the centuries, they have been interpreted and changed by whoever has written it. So it’s not the original Vedic texts that were originally written and we are reading now. It’s an alteration of whoever thought ‘Let me write Gita’. So obviously there have been some variations passed down. They’re not authentic all the way. The Vedic texts, I think are pretty much all destroyed, and the Sanskrit verses, whatever is left, are probably in some museums in Nepal. They’re not even in India.”
Pooja went on to give some trivia facts as well. She had said, “It’s illegal to teach Gita in India. It was a rule put in by one government at a time. So did you know that you can’t even teach somebody Gita in India because it’s illegal?”
Pooja concludes by finely putting things to perspective as she says, “So there you go. Who is to say that there is no upgrade? All these people have upgraded the texts. And what you interpret of a religion or a religious text is also an upgraded version, I think.”
We must say, very well put Pooja.
