Maharashtra government, in a statement issued in August 2020, allowed the TV and film shoot to resume in the state, with strict guidelines. The decision was passed as the industry suffered a huge loss due to the coronavirus lockdown. However, post the permission, several actors have been infected with the virus.
Post the shoots were allowed, there have been reports of some actors testing positive. The latest addition to the list is actress Shweta Tiwari. She was shooting for Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, which airs on Sony TV. Speaking to ETimes, Shweta confirmed the news as she said, “Yes, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am drinking lots of hot water essentially and reading a lot. I had symptoms for the first three days. I got tested on September 17. But now I am okay. I have to quarantine myself till October 1 at least. My next test will happen on September 27.”
Shweta also revealed that she started developing symptoms from September 16 and got herself tested immediately as she did not want to take any chances. After testing positive she is taking all the necessary precautions.
Earlier, Shweta Tiwari co-actor on the show Varun Badola, went into quarantine after his wife, actress Rajeshwari Sachdev tested positive.
