Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s house help Dipesh Sawant and house manager Samuel Miranda were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drugs case linked to the actor’s death case. They were later granted bail. Now the latest report suggests that Dipesh has accused NCB of illegal detention and has demanded a whopping sum of Rs 10 lakhs in compensation.
According to a report in India Today, Dipesh has filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court on October 5. Currently, the matter has been adjourned till November 6. NCB had accused Dipesh of interacting with drugs peddlers and procuring drugs for Sushant.
In his petition, Dipesh has alleged that NCB produced him before the Magistrate after more than 36 hours of arrest and whereas the guidelines of Supreme Court states that an accused should be presented before the Magistrate within 24 hours of arrest. Dipesh has also alleged that NCB has purposely lied about his time of arrest in their official record. According to the petition, Dipesh has said that he was arrested on September 4 at 10 pm however the NCB record shows his arrest was made on September 5 at 8 pm.
Dipesh is now demanding action against NCB and has sought Rs. 10 lakhs in compensation. Advocates Rajendra Rathod and Aamir Koradia have filed this petition on behalf of Dipesh. And Rathod told India Today, “Two hearings have happened in the court. NCB has asked for more time to reply.”
